I did this 30 minute watercolor painting while I was at work on my day off today. I hadn’t done a watercolor in a few months and was excited with how this one came out, despite my vacation.

I received this huge package of amazing artwork from one of my best friends from Youngstown, OH who is currently is teaching English to students in Seoul, S. Korea.
There is nothing like getting a gang of drawings from someone who you respect as an artist mailed personally to you. It definitely is an amazing reminder that I have the best real friends a guy can ask for.
All the artwork featured here was done by Salem Reese, who I am currently working on an international art fusion project with, basically sending paintings back and forth until we think they’re done.
Well, here I am again, its 6:54 AM and I am doing what I have been doing for the past 3 or so nights at 7 in the morning: tapping my brain of every last bit of creative energy that it has stored from the previous day.
I often wonder if my insomnia is real or self-induced?
Sure, I would love to be sleeping right now. I really NEED to be sleeping right now, but I’m not, my brain doesn’t work like that. I live my life to make good use of every available hour, I guess that’s why I’m still awake, and this is what I’ve been up to:

This is the first watercolor that I have done in probably about 3 years.
I lost all technique that I once acquired and feel like I am starting over but this one painting that I did sparked a whole new desire to start painting with watercolors again.
This painting was a lot of fun because I used a traditional rose that I recently did as a tattoo for my reference. This is the first in a series of watercolors that I am doing, so be sure to look for more coming soon.
